I’m not sure everyone appreciates the difficulty of this post. Tim’s goal in this post is clearly to tell his readers not to go to those watchdog/discernment blogs. He shares from personal experience as one caught in their crosshairs and so he provides a unique perspective. Yet, how does he do this without seeming passive aggressive and going on the defensive? How does he do this without at the same time pushing traffic to these sites? It’s kind of like when someone says, “Don’t look down”, our first instinct is to look down. I hope you appreciate the difficulty of Challies’ position and how well he states his point. He’s basically telling us “I’m not going to discernment blogs anymore, and I believe you should do as I do”. I agree.
