Today’s prayer comes from Nick Horton
Day Ten: that he would have a heart of love
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Paul calls us back to who we are to be with four commands; be watchful, be firm in the faith, be men, be strong. He immediately says that all is to be done in love. Apart from verse 14, we could have sons that are those yet with hearts of stone. Paul exhorts that these four things, and all others, are to be done in love. Our sons are to be lovingly watchful, lovingly firm in the faith, lovingly manly, and lovingly strong. Through love, which comes from God, they can truly fulfill what it is to be men.
Father, our earnest desire is for our sons to be watchful, firm in their faith, manly, and strong. Yet, we desire them to embed these qualities in hearts of love. Without the love of Christ, all else is in vain, so we pray that You would fashion their hearts to you in love May they submit all else in their life to You. Only in loving submission to Your Son, can they truly be watchful, firm in the faith, manly, and strong.

THanks for this.
Lord, I pray that my sons, as your children would have the same love as their Father in heaven. I pray that you would give them a heart to love you, love your people, and love your creation. Inasmuch as your love is sacrificial, teach them top love sacrificially. I pray that they when they marry, they would love their wives and children in this way. I pray that they would love the people you send them to minister to in this way. I pray that this love they have would bear testimony about you to the people who see them and know them.
