Day Fourteen: That he would have fearless contentment in Christ.
Hebrews 13:5-6 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'”
With the God-given responsibility of being the head of the home, there is no doubt an overwhelming burden on our husbands to provide in many ways–spiritually, emotionally, and financially to name a few. They (along with us) face the deceptive desires to love money and to desire what others have. Let’spray for the truth that God will never leave or forsake us to anchor our husbands to Jesus. If we have Jesus, we don’t need to love money or love what others have.
Jesus, you know what we need. You know we need deep contentment in you and we will be exceedingly rich. As the husband bears a heavy financial burden to provide for our families, there is a natural lure to covet and to love money. Will you remind our husbands today that You will never leave us or forsake us, and if we have you, we have everything we need. Be his Helper today coming alongside him in ways that we fail or fall short. Make him fearlessly content in You. Jesus you are enough for him and for us, make our hearts believe this. In your matchless name, Amen.
