Pray For Your Husband: 31 Day Challenge–Day Twelve

Day Twelve: that my husband would experience the freedom of having God as his only Judge.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.1 Corinthians 4:3-4

Paul had been compared to other preachers and found lacking by the Corinthian believers. He could have entered into endless arguments with them, but instead he submitted himself to the one True Judge, who alone knows every thought and motive. This gave him the freedom to continue to love and serve despite criticism. Our world is full of judgments, too, from an impatient honk on the freeway to a written review from our boss to the accusations of our own conscience. Our husbands need the good news that the Lord is our judge, and our Savior, too.

Jesus, thank you for saving my husband from eternal judgment. I pray he will know you today, not just as Savior, but as his only Judge. Please free him from the sting of criticism and unjust accusations by helping him live to please you alone. Guard him from the temptation to defend himself or engage in endless mental arguments. Free him to love and serve those around him. May he know your smile today as he lives before your face.
