Day Twenty-Five: That he would have eyes to see God’s protection all about – for his family and him
When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. -2 Kings 6:16-17
Television. Radio. Forwarded emails. Facebook. Twitter. So many bits of information bombard our psyches these days – incessant and rapid fire. It’s sometimes hard to tell if the world is really coming unglued or if we just know about too many things in “real time”. It could make a man crazy and actually may – especially if a man thinks it would make him weak to talk about his worries for his family.
Lord, as you did for Elisha and the men who served with him, we would ask today that you open our husbands’ eyes to the great protection that is all about them when they are walking with you. We pray for spiritual eyes to see your goodness, your might, and your love – for him and his family. We pray that he would have eyes to see YOU and to stand fast and trust you in all things. Amen.
