Day Twenty-Three: That he would be courageous
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV)
Joshua faced a daunting task. He was to do what Moses did not—lead the people of God to set foot in the Promised Land. Our husbands will, likewise, face difficult things that call for courage. They are called upon to daily exhibit strength and courage. Let us pray today that they would find their strength and courage in the Greater Joshua that has given his people true rest.
Lord, I know that it would be very easy for my husband to cave in to fear. There are many things in his life in which he must be strong and courageous. Help him today to trust in the freedom that Jesus has purchased for him. I pray that he would find both rest and deep courage in the presence of Jesus. Amen
