I’ve decided to do a little more to bridge the gap between my writing ministry and my ministry here at First Baptist Jasper. To this end I’ll occasionally post sermons that I’ve preached in the past that I believe may be helpful to others.
Psalm 73 has long been a favorite Psalm of mine. A couple months ago we had to make a difficult announcement as a church. Before doing so I preached on Psalm 73.
We began by listening to Reason to Sing by All Sons & Daughters:
I believe Asaph (the author of Psalm 73) would appreciate this song. There are times when we simply do not feel like singing. But the Lord has given us several reasons to sing. Here in Psalm 73 I see three reasons for us to sing today:
- Today we can sing because the Lord is always good
- Today we can sing because we are upheld by the Lord
- Today we can sing because the Lord is our portion forever
If you’d like to listen to the entire sermon you can do so here (you may need to turn your speakers up):
Such good truth for a Monday.
Thanks, Michele. Glad you found it beneficial.
