As many of you know, I moved to Missouri in June to become the lead pastor at First Baptist Marionville. We’re still getting our feet wet here, but loving every minute of it. The folks here in Southwest Missouri are terrific. Marionville is a rural community—surrounded by a few other rural communities—but only about 30 minutes away from Springfield. Given our love for Branson (45 minutes away) my wife and I are really digging the area, it’s a great place to raise a family.
Though about 60% of our congregation is over 60 we do have a diverse range of ages in our church. Our nursery is bursting at the seams and our young adult class needs to move to a bigger room. There are so many young families in our area that need to be reached with the gospel.
Before I came, the church was looking to hire a worship pastor. They put that on hold in order to complete their search for a pastor. Now that I’m on site we are opening up that search again. It is a full-time position. We are looking for someone who is able to lead our congregation in transitioning into a truly blended music style. I won’t lie, I think it’ll require some serious labor to help us transition. But we are a church who believes in the power of the gospel and the proclamation of His Word.
Would you like to join us in reaching Southwest Missouri—particularly the Marionville area—with the gospel of Christ? If so give this a look and if you are interested you can email me or Nathan Beaver before October 15th.
