March 31st was my last Sunday as pastor at First Baptist Church in Marionville, MO. April 1st was my first day as pastor at Calvary of Neosho, MO.
A few months ago we began sensing that the Lord might be calling us elsewhere. We fought this. We didn’t really send any resumes out or anything but just told a few beloved people our story. In December a friend told Calvary of Neosho about us, asked for my resume, and sent along to them.
We were very hesitant to leave our station at FBC Marionville. There are so many sweet people and so much gospel work that was happening. We were hesitant to start over. But as we met with the people at Calvary we began to sense that this might be a great fit for our family. They have a passion for, and submission to, God’s Word that was eye-opening and refreshing. They also have a reputation for being incredibly missions-minded. Their passions seem to fit our passion.
So, with much pain we resigned at FBC Marionville and accepted a call to Calvary of Neosho. We still have our home in Aurora and are working on renovations. We are going back and forth a decent amount and so that’s proving to be a bit taxing for our family. Pray for us in this season. We know that our solidity and our roots are deep in Christ. We are having to learn that anew. Pray for this transition for both churches and our family.
We are excited about what God is doing!
Lord willing, I plan on keeping up a regular writing schedule. But I’d also be more than happy to publish a few guests posts for the coming weeks if anyone is interested.
